Understanding California Proposition 65

 At Seeka Decor, LLC we take safety very seriously. We have always protected the health of our  and yours and the environment because it is the right thing to be done.

Proposition 65, officially named the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, and was passed into California law during 1986 with the original intent of protecting drinking water sources from contamination. But since then, the law has grown to include common substances as wood dust, brass and PVC. Many of the 800+ chemicals and substances the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) listed as carcinogen or reproductive toxicants are common ingredients and materials found in a variety of household goods such as lotions, jewelry, lamps, lead crystal glasses, automobiles, and furniture.

Wood dust is one of the items found on the California Proposition 65 list of potentially harmful materials. We take many precautions to prevent the presence of, but there is always a chance of wood dust or one of the other substances listed being present in our items. For your peace of mind, a label is placed on items Seeka Decor, LLC sells. The wording on the label is mandated by California law to read, "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm."
